Volunteers

We welcome those who wish to volunteer at the Newport News Greek Festival. All must follow our guidelines. These guidelines will be sent out to all volunteers prior to the festival dates. Below is a list of our available positions. If you wish to join us as a Volunteer please register using the form below.

We ask that everyone wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, long hair to be pulled back in ponytail and wear a baseball hat (a hairnet will be provided if needed). Gloves, aprons and water will be provided.

Available positions

FOOD line servers

Located in the Hall. All will be assigned an area in the food lines. Servers will serve the desired food for our guests.

food line host

Direct guests to the food lines and answer questions.

Inside bar

Must be at least 21 years of age in this area. Serving all types of beverages to guests. Parishioners must attend cashier training.

online ordering cashier

Cashiers must be parishioners and must attend cashier training. Works with members in this area in preparing the orders placed online.

sweets

Parishioners pack and answer questions concerning the Greek patstries.

food line cashiers

Located in the Hall. Cashiers must be parishioners and must attend cashier training.

gyros prep/wrap

Located in the Hall kitchen. Will prepare the gyros to be served to the guests.

inside greeter

Passes out menus. Welcomes guests to the festival. Answers questions.

salads

Prepare salads and dolmathes.

sweets cashier

Cashiers must be Parishioners and must attend cashier training.
